The Coming of March

I’ve been a little lazy lately. I crave internet, and my computer without internet is a little hard to get used to. So here I am, typing because I know it’s good to write it out. So bear with me through my laziness and disjointedness.

Okay, so last time I wrote, I finished with David leaving. This month really hasn’t been too exciting. I don’t say that in a bad way. I actually have really appreciated this month and staying in. I’m sure I’ll get sick of it as it gets warmer and brighter outside, but for now I’m really loving it. Lots of reading and lots of lounging.

I finished Ayn Rand. Amazing. I would recommend the book to anyone. It’ll make you feel S-M-A-R-T. In the words of one of my professors of English from Idaho, “Ayn Rand is the Anti-Christ” and her philosophy is about as opposite as you can get from most feeling people. :) But still a pleasure to read for what it opened my mind to. On to Fountainhead sometime soon!

And I finished HP3. Already into HP4, which is a feat. :) It’s longer. I’m still nervous for the next three, which are longer still, but I’m tackling this one quite nicely.

Oh! And since writing last, us girls (the foreign girls) have found some new foreign boys! Three Mexicans moved to Castuera either in January or February to do projects in architecture and design and we discovered them sometime early this month. They have the most adorable personalities and are a lot of fun to hang out with.

I’ve noticed lately that my favorite songs are always the most haunting. Take an already haunting band like Horse Feathers, Mumford & Sons or Frightened Rabbit, find their most haunting song, and it’s most likely my favorite of their songs. Dramatic? Maybe. But I like to think that I appreciate the humanity in them, which is best felt when the music and lyrics are stressed.

No tengo más para contaros. I’m appreciating Spain. I feel that next month will bring me even more appreciation. I played a "March Fool's Day" joke today (everyone expects April 1st so I thought I'd change it up), so we'll see what that brings.
